The American Society of Professional Estimators serves construction estimators by providing education, fellowship and opportunity for professional development.
The American Society of Professional Estimators (ASPE) is a national organization of construction estimators with a local chapter in the Philadelphia region.
The objectives of ASPE are to:
  • further the recognition of construction estimating as a professional field of endeavor
  • promote education and contribute to the betterment of the construction industry
  • establish and publish standard construction estimating practices

Currently, there are thousands of members with chapters coast to coast. The Philadelphia Chapter was established in 1990.  We publish a monthly newsletter with news and tips related to the field of estimating.  On a national level, ASPE provides its members with numerous benefits including:

    • estimating courses on the internet
    • liability insurance for estimating consultants
    • discounts on technical publications
    • advertising in our national newsletter
    • invitation to the ASPE National Convention

In addition, our Society has created a program whereby a member may achieve the status of "Certified Professional Estimator" (CPE). Several state and governmental agencies have accepted our program as accreditation for public bid proposals. Please see our link for Certification for more details.

While the benefits of becoming a member of a national organization are obvious, having a local chapter in Philadelphia provides you with an opportunity to meet and network with your peers. Our meetings are held each month (except July), and consist of a social hour, dinner, and a guest speaker in a construction-related field. Please see our link to Calendar & Events for our meeting schedule.
